By Alan Baldwin LONDON, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Ron Dennis has been forced out as chairman and chief executive of McLaren, bringing to an end the Briton's 35-year involvement with one of Formula One's top teams. The 69-year-old relinquished his duties on Tuesday following a decision by the majority shareholders to place him on 'gardening leave' until his contract expires in mid-January. McLaren said in a statement that Dennis, who has a 25 percent stake in the McLaren Technology Group, would remain a shareholder and director.

It added that McLaren "will be run on an interim basis by an Executive Committee comprising the Group's majority shareholders" until a new CEO was appointed. American marketing executive Zak Brown, former head of CSM Sport&Entertainment, who has brought numerous top sponsors into Formula One, has already been linked to the job in paddock speculation. He was not immediately available for comment. Dennis said he was disappointed the shareholders had "forced through this decision.

.. despite the strong warnings from the rest of the management team about the potential consequences of their actions on the business. "The grounds they have stated are entirely spurious...," he added. DENNIS OUT A Sky News report last week said that Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat, which owns 50 percent, and Saudi-born businessman Mansour Ojjeh, the CEO of TAG who holds the remaining 25 percent, wanted Dennis out.

Facility Management (FM) is a profession that encompasses multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the built environment by integrating people, place, process and technology. Facility management services are essential for the effective operations of any company, as they ensure smooth functioning of any organization and assist the company in focusing over its core business competency. In order to reduce the dependency on crude oil based exports, the UAE aims to diversify its economy and plans to invest in non-oil based sectors, such as construction and real estate.

With improving commercial sector and increasing number of residential projects in the country, the UAE facility management market is expected to grow at a healthy pace during next five years. In addition, emergence of Cloud-based solutions is further expected to aid the growth of the country's facility management market over the span of next five years. According to "UAE Facility Management Market By Service, By Application, Competition Forecast & Opportunities, 2011 - 2021"Property services dominated the country's FM market in 2015, and the segment is anticipated to maintain its dominance over the next five years.

However, in terms of growth, the market of security services in the UAE is expected to register fastest CAGR growth over the next five years. Dubai is the largest demand generating region for facility management services in the UAE on account of tourism sector.

Twitter had 7,038,000 members in Feb 2009 and has been growing by the thousands every single day. It's difficult to try and understand why everyone wants to be so nosey and follow each other. But actually we humans are just that...nosey and we like to see what others are doing. Ever wondered what your favourite celebrity or role model gets upto? Well Twitter is a way you find out. Well almost, as it is a way for people to tell the world what they are doing right now in 140 characters or less.

Twitter was launched in April 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stones. It seems to be an extension of Facebook and Myspace's status updates section. It's easy to mistake Twitter as just a fad or something that will die in a few years time. Either way, millions of people like and use Twitter everyday. Are we a nosey nation? Maybe? Some tweets are really interesting others can be boring.

I mean who really wants to know what you have had for dinner, lunch. However, Twitter can be a really useful way to share information/posts or articles to the community. So how are people using Twitter? Many friends are just using it as a way to stay in touch with each other. Journalists may use it to scan potential stories or headlines. Others ,are using it to literally keep close to those they would like to know more about.

National Hockey League commissioner Gary Bettman said Monday that a decision will come by January about whether the league will shut down to allow players to compete in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. NHL players have been a staple in the Winter Olympics since 1998 at Nagano, with the league taking a two-week mid-season break to allow the world's greatest players to represent their home countries and compete for Olympic gold. But the timetable for a decision was announced because the league is already working on dates for the 2017-18 schedule and Olympic and global ice hockey officials must have time for a new plan if the NHL says no to going to South Korea in 2018.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said the International Ice Hockey Committee could provide money to defray travel costs for NHL players to the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang Minas Panagiotakis (Getty/AFP/File) "Whether it's January 1 or 15th or 20th, that's not the issue," Bettman said in a posting on the league's website. "This isn't drifting into the spring." A major hurdle to a sixth consecutive Olympics for NHL talent in 15 months is the $10 million in insurance, travel and accommodation costs for players and guests.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) covered them for Nagano, Salt Lake City, Turin, Vancouver and Sochi but has indicated to the NHL and International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) it will not do so this time.

A question for business owners: Is your choice resignation - or maximization? Out there in the business community, the initial shock of an economy that is crumbling faster and more fiercely than any of us dreamed was possible leaves most businesses faced with a couple of fundamental choices. Before moving on to an exploration of what these choices are, I'll touch briefly on a category comprised of business entities that, unfortunately, have no choices.

I refer to those that were on life support because they were hopelessly debt-ridden, in which case the choice has already been made for them, and it is neither resignation nor maximization. Instead, they must close their doors and seek an answer in other directions. For many, this could be a blessing in disguise, as they may have been ill suited to operate those particular enterprises from the start. Indeed, for them the economy's near-collapse (let's hope the slide is reversed sooner rather than later) may have had the affect of a "mercy killing" of sorts, causing them to regroup and forego further losses of time and resources while sparing them the misery of further twisting in the wind.

Happily, a great many autumnal success stories have been preceded by a springtime planting of the seeds of apparent failure. Most businesses have choices. Those fortunate enough to be able to have a choice can be expected to choose from between only two selections - resignation or maximization. And, though the "resignation class" has within it certain gradations, past downturns, though none may have been as deep as this one portends to be, have demonstrated that the former group is dominant.
